Editor: We are dismayed by the uptick in harassment and the fear that some children are now experiencing. Over the next few weeks, we plan to share resources that we believe will be particularly useful to schools.
If you are still wondering, as a teacher, how to be what your students need after the 2016 election, you are not alone. Dionne Grayman, a Morningside Center developer, has listed some Morningside Center resources and lessons for you in her blog article ‘Post-Election Resources for Teachers.’ She uses lessons that address the anxiety and harassment that some of your students are being exposed to due to the election. Also included is a lesson that has you ask your class, ‘What do we mean by ‘˜stereotype’?”
Dionne Grayman’s blog article can be found HERE. Feel free to share this with your fellow teachers and educators. Best wishes to you as you continue to engage with your students in the coming days.
