Teen-to-Teen Peer Support
​Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth ages 10-24 (National Vital Statistics Report, 2019). CEI’s Teen-to-Teen Peer Support program provides tips to help schools implement procedures for recruiting youth, training peer supporters, and monitoring programs to improve students’ mental health.
Each month we will offer additional information and advice, including, tips for facilitating teen-to-teen support programs, and ideas for enhancing peer supports for youth who are most at-risk for depression, anxiety, and suicide.​
Online workshops, virtual training courses, and tips and resources specifically designed to support educators with the implementation of teen-to-teen peer support activities. ​
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA), and Michigan Virtual have partnered with the Center for Educational Improvement to offer a series of five professional development courses about suicide prevention for adolescents.
