Marrin Scalone

Research Assistant

Marrin Scalone is a doctoral student in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Research Assistant with the Center for Educational Improvement (CEI). Her research explores narrative frameworks for health and behavior change, story-based meaning-making, and community-based psychoeducation. Marrin is particularly interested in how storytelling and trauma-informed approaches can foster individual and collective well-being.

In addition to her academic work, Marrin brings a holistic lens to healing and growth through her experience teaching trauma-informed yoga, mindful creative writing, and poetry workshops. She is passionate about bridging research, creativity, and embodied practices to support emotional resilience and community connection.

Outside of work, you'll usually find her at a spontaneous live music venue, with her dog by the ocean, or enveloped in the outdoors.
