Lucy Niyazova

Research Intern

Lucy Niyazova joins CEI as an intern supporting the development of S-CCATE and contributing to a range of initiatives to advance CEI’s mission. She holds a Master of Science in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, where she focused on applying rigorous research methods to inform education policy and practice. In her full-time role, Lucy serves as an Associate Consultant with District Management Group (DMGroup), a Boston-based education consulting firm dedicated to improving student outcomes through evidence-based management strategies. Since joining DMGroup, she has contributed to districtwide needs assessments, program evaluations, and strategic planning initiatives, supporting school systems in designing and implementing high-impact interventions.

As a multilingual learner and child of immigrants, Lucy is deeply committed to fostering student confidence and promoting language development while honoring cultural identity. She has supported research examining how young learners make meaning from stories that explore a wide range of perspectives, emphasizing materials that extend beyond standard requirements to celebrate differences. Passionate about expanding access to education, Lucy serves on the board of Dillar English Academy, a volunteer-led nonprofit that provides free English instruction to Uyghurs worldwide. She has also volunteered as an academic tutor and English language instructor, leveraging her experience to support students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Driven by a commitment to equity, community, and excellence, Lucy seeks to bridge research and practice, creating meaningful, lasting change in education through thoughtful policy, innovative programs, and inclusive learning experiences.
