Erica McLaughlin studied at Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, CT where she earned her Bachelor's of Science degree and a Masters of Art in Teaching. She taught in Bridgeport, CT for 9 years and later returned to Vermont to be close to family and became an elementary principal at Randolph Elementary School for 17 years. Erica was VT Elementary Principal of the year in 2015 and is now the Assistant Executive Director for elementary schools for the Vermont Principals' Association. She enjoys supporting principals across the state by providing high quality professional learning opportunities, coaching and advocating for leaders and learners.
Erica’s commitment to education extends beyond her primary role, as she actively participates in several state-wide committees and boards. These include the National Association of Elementary School Principals Race and Equity Task Force, the CEEDAR committee, and board positions with Building Bright Futures State Advisory Council and Prevent Child Abuse Vermont.
Additionally, Erica enjoys spending quality time with her friends, husband and two children and volunteering with her yellow lab, Cali, as a member of Therapy Dogs of Vermont.
