Dr. Robyn Conrad Hansen is a passionate advocate for transforming education to meet the needs of today’s youth and future leaders, both in the United States and globally. With a vision for rigorous, relevant learning that connects students to real-world experiences, she believes in the power of world-class educators to inspire lifelong career excitement. Currently, Dr. Hansen serves as a Professor of Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University, where she prepares the next generation of principals and superintendents. She is the co-author of The Principal’s Desk Reference to Professional Practices (2022) and Handbook of Research on Critical Issues and Global Trends in International Education (2024), and contributes to the International Successful School Principal’s Project (ISSPP), the largest global research network on effective school leadership.
Dr. Hansen’s 25-year career in PK-12 administration spans leadership roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She was honored as Arizona’s National Distinguished Principal of the Year in 2010 and later elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), serving as its president from 2015–2016. A seasoned educator and presenter, she has spoken at conferences around the world and has taught at NAU’s College of Education since 1998, with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction and The Principalship. Dr. Hansen holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and earned her graduate degrees in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
