Brian Aikens is an Emotional Support teacher, author, and educational consultant with over two decades of experience in both education and mental health. He brings a powerful blend of classroom expertise and therapeutic understanding to his work with students, families, and fellow educators. At Upper Providence Elementary School, Brian empowers students with emotional and behavioral needs using experiential learning, behavior support strategies, and social-emotional skill-building.
As the founder of Insight Minds, LLC, Brian leads workshops with students and professional development sessions focusing on mindfulness, emotional wellness, and resilience in school communities. He collaborates nationally through his work with Thom Stecher and Associates and Newman/Stecher International, and he also serves as an adjunct professor at Neumann University, where he teaches in the Master’s in Education program.
Brian is the author of the forthcoming graphic novel Chill Skills: Let’s Make A P.L.A.N., designed for children ages 8–13. The book uses storytelling to teach practical coping strategies, support emotional growth, and build classroom communities, making it a valuable tool for both young readers and the educators who serve them. Known for his compassionate approach and deep insight, Brian helps build more connected, supportive, and emotionally healthy learning environments.
