Anitra Gallegos

Experienced Transformational School Leader

Advisory Board

Anitra Gallegos currently serves as Principal at Panorama Middle School in Colorado Springs, part of the Harrison School District. With over 20 years of experience in education—including 16 years as a building administrator—Anitra is a seasoned leader with a track record of success across diverse districts and student populations. Her expertise in data disaggregation, systems change and implementation, and restorative practices has been instrumental in transforming a once low-performing school into a thriving learning environment. Under her leadership, Panorama has become a place where academic and social-emotional barriers are actively addressed, allowing student learning and well-being to remain the central focus.

Beyond her work in schools, Anitra is an active voice in the broader Latino community. She has served as a keynote speaker for multiple Latina youth conferences across Colorado, inspiring students through her story of resilience and determination. Anitra is also a dedicated member of the Colorado Association for Latinx Administrators and Superintendents (CALAS), where she has contributed in roles such as planning committee member, district delegate, conference presenter, and scholarship reviewer. She has presented at state, national, and international conferences on topics including educational equity, trauma-informed practices, and school transformation. Anitra now looks forward to expanding her impact through her involvement with the Center for Educational Improvement.
