

José Larios
Research Fellow
José Larios is a Research Fellow supporting the development of S-CCATE and contributing to a range of initiatives to advance heart-centered education. Prior to joining CEI, he was a Program Fellow at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation where he supported and launched $7M of efforts to strengthen the capacity of the foundation’s programs, initiatives, and grantee partners to achieve their goals and benefit the common good. Earlier in his career, he tracked state and federal-led economic and racial equity investments in the higher education space at the Lumina Foundation, and conducted research at Harvard on anti-poverty measures on community college campuses. 
A Queens native, José holds a bachelor’s degree in social studies with a secondary in economics from Harvard University and a master’s degree in education policy from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Outside of work, José can be found in a history museum, a hiking trail, or a boxing gym.
